The Evolution of Subway Cars
I decided to take a break from NYC and visit my hometown of Chicago this week. Although it had been a while since I had been to the Windy City, things for the most part, looked the same. That was until I stepped onto the subway. Immediately, I noticed something different: the seats were facing inwards as opposed to forward or backward.
Chicago is slowly adopting a New York feel to their transit system. The new cars sport fancy maps that indicate which stop the train is at. I find this addition extremely useful since I often can't hear what the automated voice says over the loudspeaker due to the fact that I frequently have headphones in my ears. My main concern about these new cars is the decrease in the number of seats in the cars. I'm not sure how I feel about these new trains. I guess time will tell.
